Connectar dades, transformar hotels

Last March 24th, the Tech Tourism Cluster organized in Barcelona the conference “Connecting data, transforming hotels”, bringing together more than 35 hotels in the city and more than 70 professionals from the traveltech sector with the aim of highlighting the strategic role of data in the tourism industry.

The session, which had the collaboration of the Gremi d'Hotels de Barcelona and the support of Business Insights, H10 Hotels and ACCIÓ, was conceived as a meeting space to reflect on how to transform data into intelligent decisions, connect systems and move towards more efficient and results-oriented models within the tourist accommodation sector.

Among the attendees, we highlight a wide representation of professional profiles, from hotel management and revenue managers to experts in technology, data and innovation, evidencing the transversality of the challenge and the need to work collaboratively among all the actors in the ecosystem.

During the session, various professionals from the sector shared their vision on how data is being applied in the day-to-day of hotels, highlighting aspects such as the importance of having integrated systems, the quality of information and the ability to convert data into concrete actions with an impact on profitability and customer experience. In addition, an open debate space was generated among the attendees, where some of the main challenges of the sector were put on the table, such as data fragmentation, the difficulty of integration between tools and the need to evolve towards a more data-oriented organizational culture.

The conference also served to strengthen connections between technology companies and hotel establishments, promoting the creation of new synergies and collaboration opportunities within the 'traveltech' ecosystem.

With initiatives like this, the Tech Tourism Cluster continues to promote spaces for connection and shared learning to accelerate the digital transformation of the tourism sector.
