The Tech Tourism Cluster has taken a new step in its commitment to innovation by unifying the Data Space and Artificial Intelligence working groups, a strategic decision that will generate new synergies among member companies and accelerate the development of transformative projects for the tourism sector.
The decision was formalized during the latest session of the working groups, where around thirty companies, knowledge centers, and organizations from the traveltech ecosystem shared challenges, opportunities, and new lines of collaboration. This convergence responds to an increasingly evident reality: AI can only deploy its full potential if it builds upon high-quality, well-governed, and efficiently shared data.
With this new structure, the Tech Tourism Cluster aims to promote a more integrated vision of both fields, drive collaborative projects with greater impact, and facilitate knowledge exchange among companies working on complementary technologies. The goal is to create a space where data, artificial intelligence, and innovation advance together to respond to the major challenges of the tourism sector.
During the session, the main guidelines were defined for a long-term project that aspires to turn Catalonia into an international benchmark in the application of data and artificial intelligence to tourism. The initiative stems from the conviction that these technologies have ceased to be mere support tools and have become strategic assets capable of transforming decision-making, optimizing processes, personalizing experiences, and generating new business models.
To make this possible, the project aims to leverage the knowledge and experience of the cluster's member companies, fostering collaboration among organizations with diverse yet complementary profiles to consolidate the Tech Tourism Cluster's role as a connecting space for the sector's different stakeholders.
